Submissions

We are currently considering middle grade fiction for ages 8-12

Make sure the word count is between 30,000- 65,000

We welcome submissions from authors based in the United States and Canada exclusively. Additionally, we have a keen interest in writers who are affiliated with SCBWI or belong to a critique group.

We gladly accept unsolicited submissions and do not require exclusivity. Nevertheless, we highly advise having your manuscript reviewed by fellow writers with expertise in middle grade literature

Guidelines:
Early middle grade fiction: Word Count 16,000-.30,000
Middle Grade fiction: Word Count 30,000-65,000
Email submissions only.

In Subject Line Include: “Submission: TITLE NAME | AUTHOR NAME”
Please send the first 3 chapters ONLY as an attachment (.pdf preferred, .word accepted.)

When submitting your cover email, kindly provide the following details:

Two recent titles published in the last 5 years that are similar to your work.
Any writing or professional organizations you are affiliated with.
Your social media accounts.
Any other relevant information that highlights your ability to market and contribute to the success of your title.

IF THE MANUSCRIPT IS NOT PROPERLY FORMATTED, we will not read your submission.

First Line Indent: .23 upon return

Margins: 1″

Spacing: Double

Page Size: 8.5″ x 11″

Font: Times New Roman

Header: (first page different-top left, name, address, email, phone #–Top Right Word count) All other page headers (Top right AUTHOR LAST NAME | TITLE | Page#)

Title Page: Top Left top left, name, address, email, phone #, Top Right Word Count–Page Center: TITLE NAME, return, by, return, author name.
